I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
You might know our church members as 'Mormons', it's the same faith.

I got my mission call, to serve in the Montreal Canada French speaking mission. It is anticipated that I will serve for a period of 24 months.

I will be sharing my beliefs with others who are willing to hear our message, and come unto our savior Jesus Christ.

Now, you might think it sounds kind of silly, but it's what I believe, because hours of prayer, meditation and study have allowed the holy spirit to verify my faith as truth.

I don't laugh at other's beliefs, so please don't laugh at mine. I respect a person's right to worship or not according to the dictates of their own conscience, please allow me the same.

This is not something I am pushed into. This is something I chose to do, because I believe it will be a great learning experience, and that even if I can only influence a single life for the better, it will have been worth it.

I'm scheduled to go to the Missionary Training Center on December 5th. There I will spend 9 weeks learning the language and preparing to go out. After that I will be headed to Montreal, then to my mission area.

On my mission I will not be accessing the internet, watching TV or listening to the radio. Such things will distract from my calling, and make me less effective as an emmisary of the almighty. Please understand that this is not a permanent cutoff, but it will be quite a while before you see me online again after the 5th of December 2007.

I know a great deal of my friends, both local and online will miss me, but be assured that I go forward with a smile, and so should you. You'd be surprised how fast two years can go. ^^

In the MTC and out in the field, you may write me letters. I look forward to them!
